    09 June to 13 June 2006 - Our 5D4N Taiwan holiday.

Taiwan can be real fun but think we have chosen the wrong time to go as it is their raining season. Out of the 5 days we were there, it poured for 3 days.

When we touched down in Taipei' international airport, we were greeted by a (not so frenly but still ok).. After counting the no. of people which was only 13 of us, the not-so-frenly tour guide, Xiao He, took us to our 1st hotel in Hong Shu Lin..

The ceiling of our hotel lobby. Remind me of the Da Vinci Code.. Leonado Da Vinci's work?

As our 1st day was free & easy, Xiao He was kind enough to bring us to take their skytrain to Dan Shui station (jus a stop away from our hotel station) for a glance of their street food aka xiao chi & also shops selling clothes, bags & accessories..

Taking pix in the train is strictly prohibited hence u can only see abit of the train here. Hey, what u expect, I risk my life in taking this pix leh.. hahaa..

    .
    .
    .

It was raining when we reached there. Surprisingly, their pricing are not as economic as I always thought.. Their standard of living can be as high as ours so to speak..

A big King Kong at the entrance of a shop.

    .

    .

The biggest worm I ever seen!!

    .
    .
    .

Everywhere we went, we saw mountains.. Xiao He said almost 80% of Taiwan lands r mountains!!!

This mountain is called Guan Yin Mountain.

    .
    .
    .

After spending there for nearly 2hrs, we were back to our hotel to meet Xiao He again & this time, he took us to the famous Shilin Ye Shi (nite market)..

    .
    .
    .

This is the Taiwan most famous sausage, dun be mistaken that u r getting the whole of the sausage when u buy, they will only cut a few pieces for u..

    .
    .
    .

Everything is so big here in Taiwan, look at the watermelon!! keke..

    .
    .
    .

Beside tasting the sausages, we also tried the big fried chicken (which Singapore is also selling), fried oyster with eggs & a tian fu ruo (dun know what is it but it tasted almost the same as oyster with egg except without the oyster). Well, we didn't really enjoy the food as it was so much different from Singapore's, most food tasted sweet instead of salty.. & there r NO CHILLI SAUCE!!!! Its a torture to me if there is no chilli sauce.. hahaa.. But give the benefit of doubt, their fruits taste super sweet BUT expensive.. I spent S$7.50 to buy a pack of cut honeydews..

Ya, I was looking at the map while waiting for the train to come, I saw this

    .
    .
    .

Taiwan got a street named Hougang too!! hahaa...

On the 2nd day, Xiao He took us to their miniaturization park which is the 2nd largest in the world aka Xiao Ren Guo.. Greeted us were mountains again..

    .
    .
    .

It was raining that time too & we were so cold while walking thru the miniture buildings & models..

    .

    .

    .
    .
    .

This is the famous hotel that only the rich can stay.. Too bad we can only took pix outside.. It look like a grand temple instead of hotel rite?

    .
    .
    .

We were also went to Peacock Garden to see the beautiful peacocks. According to Xiao He, u must be real lucky to be able to see the peacock open its feather..

& boy, we r so so lucky mann!!

    .
    .
    .

    Very beautiful rite??

    .
    .
    .

    The soldiers aka xian bing..

    .
    .
    .

Quite poor thing cos during their 1 hr duty, they r not allow to move under hot weather, also cannot blink their eyes as well!!

    .
    .
    .

Me inside the bus.. Looking very tired.. Imagine we have to wake up as early as 6.15am & change different hotels almost everyday..

    .
    .
    .

My niece & nephew having fun riding this thing in a shopping centre..

    .
    .
    .

They have puppet show entertaining people.. keke..

    .
    .
    .

101 Shopping Centre, the tallest building in the world.. Too bad, we didn't have time to go in as its the last day for me in Taiwan..

    .
    .
    .

We were in our hotel lobby waiting for Xiao He on the last day in Taiwan..

    .
    .
    .

Living standard is pretty high in Taiwan, their clothings & accessories price almost the same as Singapore.. & the food in foodcourts can cost at last S$6 - $10..

If you got a chance to visit Taiwan, do take note not to say anything bad about the place, food or people.. They will take offend if you does..

YAH!! I bought this for me & 1 for my dear too..

    .
    .
    .

    & I m S$388 poorer now.. :P
